The older kids (those that actually care) have just brushed it off. In fact, my
year old went out an got two BYU shirts and wears them often.
I coach soccer and I have a bunch of kids of uu fans. On rivalry one kid said, "BYU sucks" (and other uu kids agreed). I said, "I loved my time down there and got a great education. UU's been winning lately. BYU used to win all the games when I was your age." That kid then said, "Well, Utah is the best at football. BYU's the best at everything else." True story (and accurate assessment). I haven't heard any more BYU sucks comments since — even after the loss.
BYU does need to start winning.
LIKE 98.4% OF 6 YEAR OLDS, MY KID WOULDN'T HAVE KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.
