I am currently a BYU-I online student, but I originally started at Weber State University, as well. (my wife has 2 degrees from WSU. Their RN program is awesome) When I was going there, I wore BYU gear nearly every day because I always wear a BYU hat. When I went to get my Weber State card, I did not even realize what I was wearing until they had me turn my hat around backwards. Afterwards, my buddy started laughing and told me to look at the card. It was 7 am and I had not even realized that I had on a BYU hoodie and hat, and even backwards, my hat has BYU Cougars showing. It was funny.
Weber State is a great school and has some top notch programs, such as the Nursing program, which now offers a doctorate, Tech Sales, and Automotive. Most of my family were able to get really great jobs through the Tech Sales, as Pharmaceutical Reps, and my wife and sister in law had their choice of jobs because getting their RN there. Sadly, there are just not a lot of Weber State fans Football fans, but their basketball program has always had a solid following. Coach Hill has done some great things, though, and helped them pull out of the mess that John L Smith left them in when he replaced Mcbride and then left before coaching a game, to take the Arkansas job, a month before the season was supposed to start. It decimated their recruiting program and Hill really had to start from nothing. Most of the students are unconventional and married students. I live in North Ogden/Pleasant View area, and while everyone wants WSU to do well, most of the alumni, are fans of BYU or Utah. My inlaws will attend some WSU games because they are alumni, but we all have BYU season tickets. They. are nearing 40 years with BYU season tickets and there are a lot of my neighbors, who make the 150 mile round trip each game to support our Cougs. I hope WSU beats James Madsen and wins the championship.
