ball and learning and maturing would be worse than being thrown to the wolves in the NBA, I don't follow your logic. It's like saying a 9th grader would be better off with the best college professors and skipping high school all together. Emotional growth is just as important, even in sports. You learn things about yourself, confidence, playing with peers, etc...
