This post is all cool tourist stuff. It is not a "what would New Yorkers do" kind of post
walk across the brooklyn bridge from brooklyn to Manhattan starting at sunset. If you have time before, get a pizza at Juliana's before the walk.

Do the 9/11 museum. It is underground in the footprint of the towers. It is incredible.

Do the Intrepid. The space shuttle is really cool.

Go to Saint Patrick's Cathedral about an hour after sunrise. It is the only time the stained glass is in sunlight.

John's on Bleecker Street in the village has great pizza.

The metropolitan museum of art has an incredible medievel armor and japanese samurai armor exhibit. It is really cool even if you don't like museums.

This isn't New York specific (because the original is in Boston), but go to Luke's Lobster and get a lobster roll. Worth every penny.

Do a broadway show and when you get out, go to Junior's for late night cheesecake and diner food.

If you want a unique dining experience, go to the Starlight Diner. The serving staff takes turns singing solos. It can be kind of cool.

In the lobby of Le Parker Meridien Hotel, behind a big curtain, there is a burger counter called the burger joint. It is good. And it is cool to go from this marble hotel lobby behind a curtain and be in a burger dive.

If you are going now at Christmas, go see the model train show at the botanical gardens. Ride the train there and back. It is a great train ride and a really cool model train exhibit, with all sorts of buildings and stuff made of tree bark and plants.

Get a Cronut at Dominique Ansel Bakery. They are really good.

Skip the Statue of Liberty Cruise and instead do the Staten Island Ferry. It is free, it goes right by the statute of liberty, and then you can ride it back. If you time either leaving Manhattan or returning to Manhattan with sunset, it is the most incredible view you can imagine.

Go to Eataly by the Flatiron. It can be fun to walk around, and the food we got was great.

New York can be really really fun. Have a great time.
