Utah loses 9 starters next year, including Moss and Huntley. That will be big. They also lose 5 starters on defense.
Minnesota's very strong team this year also loses EIGHT defensive starters. Next year will be a much better time to play them than this year was.
Here is a look at the other P5 teams we play:
Michigan State loses 5 defensive starters. Loses QB and TE on offense
Arizona State loses 3 on offense and 5 defensive starters
Minnesota loses EIGHT defensive starters. Loses only RB and a WR on offense.
Stanford loses 6 defensive starters. Only lose their RB on offense.
Overall, it seems like a pretty decent time to play these P5 teams, as most of them have significant turnover on either offense or defense or both.
I can't get too hopeful for next year, because of the huge gaps and questions we have in our secondary and in our coaching ability.
But all things considered, maybe we're hitting them at a good time and we won't have a completely horrible season.
