Thousands of people do this every day, but I seriously can't imagine having that commute.
I knew a member on my mission who lived in Lathrop (south of Stockton), and got up every morning at like 2am to drive to San Francisco and deliver newspapers. After that job, he was a delivery driver (FedEx or UPS or whatever). He did that from 8am to 5/6pm, and then would drive that same commute back home in the evening. Get home at 8 or so each night, grab dinner and a couple quick hours of sleep, and then up and at 'em again the next morning.
They had a beautiful home in a dumpy town with cheap cost of living, and they were a great family. But I seriously can't imagine doing that.
