Cinematically it was cool in a few spots. The whole single shot style was interesting but not sure I liked it. It wasn't excessively gorey which was good and I only noticed 3 f-bombs and they weren't out of place or anything.
But it wasnt as nearly as intense as you guys made it out to be. A few parts were really gripping but I almost fell asleep in a couple stretches as well.
It felt like they were trying too hard to make it a significant film. I can't imagine watching it again though. Definitely wouldn't pay to see it again and it wouldn't be worth watching on a TV screen.
And before you jump down my throat about disliking a film that portrays the realities of war, remember it is actually a film that I'm talking about. I'm not hating on soldiers or those who experienced these things. Also I didn't hate it. It was still a decent film. Just underwhelming given the reviews you guys gave it. Hoping I can lower the expectations of some who haven't seen it so that they don't come away as underwhelmed.
If you are going to see it, go see it in the theater!
