Giant "Who says no" trade idea.......

Typical caveat - this all works on the NBA trade machine:

Philidelphia 76'ers receive - Chris Paul

Dallas Mavericks receive - Al Horford

OKC Thunder receive - Courtney Lee, Dwight Powell (from Dallas) and Mike Scott and Zhaire Smith (from Philly)

Philly gets a legit Point Guard at a price that is high but allows them to move off of the Horford signing that isn't really working out for them.   Horford isn't happy, and they don't have anyone on the roster who can really run the pick and roll.  Paul is a master at PNR.  Their starting five of Paul, Richardson, Harris, Simmons, and Embiid would be insane.  Long term, Paul's contract is actually one year shorter than Horford's, and the only young asset they are giving up is the extremely unproven Smith.

Dallas gets the veteran big they need to be a serious playoff contender this year without giving up much of anything (I like Dwight Powell OK, but you give him up in a heartbeat to get Horford).  Lee goes to OKC just to make salaries work - he's an expiring (same with Scott from Philly, although he has one more year left).

OKC gets to move off of Paul's massive contract and gets two decent young assets in Smith and Powell.  With as well as Chris Paul has worked out for them, they probably make either Dallas or Philly throw in a 2nd rounder or heavily protected future 1st.  This is a huge win for them as this summer people were speculating that they might need to give up a pick to get someone to take Paul's contract.

Sooooo.....who says no?
