He might get in strangely enough because of the sympathy vote from last year. He finished the season all-NBA (despite playing the same the second half as he did the first half) and his snub in favor of Aldridge and Klay was egregious enough that it got a lot of attention.

Jazz being the 2nd seed would also help the odds. Especially if it comes down to Gobert or Booker.

FWIW, Zach Lowe considered Gobert a lock last year too. Like he wasn't even borderline on Lowe's predictions, and he thought it was more likely that Donovan would get selected over Klay and Aldridge (The worst selection last year, IMO), who ended up slipping in ahead of Gobert.
