OK, there is always more to this.
First- you received a medical bill for $2,000.00. Was this medical bill submitted to your insurance yet? If not, you should probably wait before paying it. The reason being is that your insurance will have negotiated rates for the services and the $2,000 bill may be more like $800 or less with the contracted reductions. You would then need to pay $800.

Also, there is always the chance that your health insurance will say that it is not a covered benefit received following the health plan rules. You need to make sure the insurance processes the claim and verifies that the bill you are paying applies towards your plan deductible.

Finally, I think you can do better than $1,500. If it were being paid by insurance there would likely be a much steeper reduction.
