It's very nice and convenient to stay on property, but it can be expensive. One year we rented a large townhome

that fit us all.

While there - spend a day at the beach. Another day visiting Kennedy Space Center / NASA. (You might be able to combine these into one day depending on family interests.)

I love DisneyWorld but one thing you might consider doing is the following:

- Spend a week in Florida. While there visit the following:

  • Kennedy Space Center
  • Florida Everglades (take an airboat ride)
  • Sanibel Island (best beach anywhere for shelling)
  • Maybe go all the way to Key West
  • Stop at beaches along the way
  • If your kids haven't been on a cruise - an easy, cheap way is to take a 3-day cruise to Bahamas (I haven't done this, but we are putting plans together to do it with our grandkids for their first cruise)
  • Any leftover days visit parks, etc in the Orlando area
  • DisneyWorld/DisneyLand can get really expensive. Doing the above might be a less expensive, more adventurous way to have a great vacation.
