Alex Smith doesn't seem to really make a difference. Which was his biggest problem. Not a difference maker.

San Francisco was 13-3 & 11-4-1 in Smith's final 2 years ('11 &'12). Then he left. They were 12-4 & 8-8 in the 2 following years.

Kansas City was 12-4 & 10-6 in Smith's final 2 years ('16 &'17). Then he left. They were 12-4 & 12-4 in the 2 years after.

So SF, went from 24-7-1 to 20-12. And KC went from 22-10 to 24-8.

It looks like San Francisco got somewhat worse and KC got slightly better.

As a Chiefs fan, Alex was a serviceable qb. The problem is like most qbs, they can't put the team on their shoulders
