I work with him and have a ton of respect for his clinical skills/knowledge. A different physician recommended the procedure for my sister so I thought I'd chat with him about it. His basic message was that the procedure is so new that there really isn't good info about how well it will work long term. Short term, it seems to be very beneficial for many patients. But he also said that there is very little chance of it causing any unintended harm so if you are having problems, it's probably worth a shot.
