Problem is that even if it's a better football conference than the P12,
the other power conferences won't do anything about it. In their mind, there are only 5 Power conferences, and they cannot and will not be relegated even if another G5 conference is better overall.
If there was some kind of promotional system in place for conferences, then I think that would be a decent idea. But in college football, you're a have or have-not. The Pac will ALWAYS be a have, and the AAC will ALWAYS be a have-not.
