of continuity for a few years now after spending time as one of the youngest teams. A few years in a row they were among the top in the nation in number of freshmen played. Now these guys are finally becoming juniors and seniors. It's like how the basketball program "couldn't get old."
BYU football is finally getting old.
Everyone on the OL returns and this last year they returned 4 of 5. And their depth has a ton of experience. QB is a junior. Best offensive weapon returns as a senior. Offense is very old outside of WR. And this year they'll at least have a junior and a JC guy to help.
Defensively they hardly lose anything. Two senior DBs gone, but get two senior DBs back that they lost last year. 3 if you count Zayne coming back and sticking at that safety spot.
LBs were really young and still are. Everyone returns.
DL has everyone returning too.
As far as returning starters, BYU would be among the top in the country. If they land a grad transfer RB and maybe even a grad transfer WR, they'll be very "old."
I'm definitely not making excuses for BYU of any sort, but I think people forget just how young BYU has been.
