While there is plenty to criticize Boeing on, this isn't one
It is the airlines that decide how much space goes between each row, not Boeing. There is an argument that Boeing is partially to blame for seat width, since they have an idea of how many seats across airlines are going to try to squeeze; on the other side, though, if Boeing makes the plane wider airlines will find ways not to increase the width of seats, merely to fit an extra person in each row.
