Sports: Len Bias. I would say that affected me the most
My favorite player in college got drafted by one of my favorite teams. Rarely has there been a draft pick that fit a need better than he did. He was going to give much needed depth at the 3 and 4 so Bird and McHale could rest more. And then we learn the morning after the draft he was gone. I think the Celtics would have won more titles and Bird and McHale would have played longer.
I was pretty sad when Pete Maravich died. He was long retired but had been doing coaching videos and was fun at old timers games.
