There are options.... But if you put a first, second round tender on him... That is rolling the dice that no other team will match, and you get Taysom at an undervalued price for a year... And hope to renegotiate him next year.
But say they go this route, put a second round tender on him. That means they could bring Brees in on a huge deal etc . . But a team like the Pats... Could walk right in and put a bundle of money... Say 10 mil or more... And now they give up a very late 2nd round pick (Taysom would be a much better pick than a gamble on an unknown 2nd rounder)... And NO couldn't match the offer due to cap room... They lose him.
