He talked about it all the time. One day he came in very distraught and sad. He had some disabilities and was often hard to understand so I wasn't sure what he was saying at first. His teacher wasn't sure either so I told her I'd try to figure it out. He kept saying something about the vacuum and his mom and the bird.
After several questions and many tears, I figured out that the bird was on its perch while mom was vacuuming. She thought it'd be easy to just stick the hose in the bottom of the cage to clean it out while the bird was up out of the way. Just as she stuck the hose in, the bird jumped down and slurp.......... up he went into the vacuum. I about lost it when he described opening the vacuum bag to find the bird laying there with his head cocked to the side and his tongue hanging out. Very sad story but also one of the funniest things I ever had a kid tell me mainly because of how long it took to figure it out. Took all I could do to keep from laughing.
