I just look at BYU and what assets and tools it does have NOW that it seems to be squandering. Like i do with my personal life I ask myself if I am fulfiling them measure of my creation and getting the best of myself.
If I conclude that I'm not, I make changes.
I just see BYU not being willing to make changes. Case in point. We take a coach with an average win/loss record over five years and reward him with a 3 year extension. We rewarded mediocrity. BYU holds him up as a standard and bloviate about how great it is that we have a such a great coach. (He is a good man and I like him as a man, not a coach.) A school with a rich history of success and visibilty should not reward mediocrity with an extension and a raise.
To me, it is like awarding merit scholarships to C students.
Frankly, i'd be half in the KS camp if he would, at least, shake up his coaching staff. Do SOMETHING. Instead, he works on his dance moves for the next after-game lockeroom dance off after a victory over a choo like Idaho State and talks about how much confidence has in his staff.
