basketball. Even after the loss the other night there is a underlying joy knowing that things are getting better and likely will continue to do so over the next few years. Do I expect BYU to become Gonzaga? Of course not. But BYU basketball is fun to watch again.

With football, after a loss I only think it could get worse like 2017. I have little faith that with the current conditions, coaching and administration that the Cougars will have a positive season next year or anytime in the near future. As everyone knows, I think we have the wrong coach. But I don't trust the administration to find the right coach either. We need someone with a fresh new approach, zeal and energy to make a difference with BYU football whether in administration or coaching. Until then it will be hard to find consistent joy for me in BYU football (I would love to be proven wrong, but 4 years+ with the coaches and 8 or 9 years of independence with essentially the same administrators makes me think I am not).
