need to get stadium situations figured out. I used to think that SSS is always better than a football stadium, but the Fire have made me realize otherwise. Bridgeview is just so far from the Loop. In that regard Soldier Field will be much better. While not ideal Soldier Field is pretty good as a soccer venue--it's similar to Century Link Field in that it's pretty compact and intimate. In the end, though, I hope the Fire can figure out a way to build a SSS closer to the Loop, because Chicago is a great soccer city.
With NYCFC getting a new stadium, the worst stadium situation will clearly be New England. The Revs stuck out in Foxboro is much worse than Chicago's situation. Foxboro is not an SSS and its a long way from the urban core. I know the Krafts are still trying to come up with a better solution, but nothing's materialized yet.
I feel bad for these MLS 1.0 fans who have to witness all the new, shiny venues the MLS 2.0 teams are getting and just sigh.
