I stated it pretty clearly. It has to have a chance to go in. See my post
above to read the actual NBA rule. Maybe you like the rule, or maybe you don't, but your personal opinion doesn't change the rule.

We can all agree that the definition of a shot that "has a chance to go in" is highly subjective, and certainly Lillard's shot is very debatable.

My point was simply to say that it does indeed matter if the shot had a chance to go in or not. That's all.
