Seemed like it happened all the time when I was a kid. Hitchhiking was common

Never ran out of gas, broken belt or vapor lock. I don't remember ever getting locked out either.

All of the above. Plus you can add in fuel pump failure and distributor issues

All but vapor lock and broken belt. Broken belts are for the most part prevent
