Simple..
A few weeks ago I heard a BYU player speak in church. He told a story about how his position coach wasn't LDS and didn't understand the culture of the school. (It was actually a good talk and in the end, the coach grew to understand more about the church and his players)

.. But at the end of the day, its the position coaches that spend most of their time with the players.

My younger son just finished being a 'Recruit'... Some of the schools he had offers to would always ask him about his PWO to BYU. They are always a little leary of an LDS kid picking to walk-on at BYU instead of taking a full scholarship. A few of the schools located in Utah would always bring up how many RM's they have on staff (My son is going on a mission first). BYU does not have the largest number of RM's on staff.
