Mostly I think it’s a cry of “notice me.”
So many kids are ignored and dismissed so much now that they come up with increasingly outlandish ways to say “I’m here, pay attention to me.”
I’d argue that Most of the outrage culture is rooted in the primal need to have our existence mean something to someone.
