No. Layup is still the most efficient shot in basketball. So a 7'4" dude who
can take that away from opponents will always be a valuable commodity. That said, if the game turns into a 3-point contest (which is not uncommon nowadays, especially in the NBA), then your 7'4" guy becomes much less of a factor.
