1) Seljaas gets injured over the summer and can't practice before the season.
2) Baxter gets injured in the preseason, and for almost the entire season we lose our best athletic rim protector, and a guy that was REALLY playing well at the end of last season.
3) Haws has off-season surgery and comes out of the gate a little slow, only to absolutely tear it up in WCC play.
4) When we GOT Yoeli back, we immediately lost him for most of the preseason.
5) Once Yoeli was eligible, we lost him to injury right before the two biggest WCC road games.
6) Toolson goes down with the sprained ankle, is clutching his face in his hands, and we all thought his season was done, but then he comes back on the court a few minutes later and contributes to a really important home win.
7) We lose one of our best defenders and glue guys (Nixon) to a badly sprained ankle and other guys step up – just like they've been doing all year – and we play solid D in a win against the #2 team in the country.
Nuts is right. I don't know how far we'll go in March, but come on. This is storybook stuff.
