Just helped my brother with buying a new vehicle and we had to threaten to walk
They were giving the normal salesman pitch of that is an absurdly low number and they can't do it. They refused to come down the last $500 he wanted and were saying something like "are you going to let $500 keep you away from this car, over the course of the loan that is nothing". I told him to tell them $500 means the difference in getting a sale today or not and the guy said they couldn't do it. he told him thanks but we don't have a deal. Magically when we started to move towards the door the bigger manager came in and said okay to our deal. Walking away can sometimes be the key to securing a good deal instead of an OK deal.
