The direction the guy fell is the worst argument there is.
Haws didn't hit him hard enough to send him another direction. Particularly since he has so much more mass than Haws does. That's a given.

But you don't have to propel someone in a direction in order to hit someone hard enough for it to hurt. Also - the Gonzaga dude is big and heavy enough that if his momentum is already going one way, his body is going to continue that way after the Haws hit - which is exactly what happened. It looked to me like he lost has balance after the jolt as much as anything.

Let me begin by saying I have no idea if the guy flopped or didn't. And honestly, I'm not sure it matters. I've seen plenty of hits like the one Haws gave that have been called fouls, and others that haven't been. Personally, I thought it was a hard enough hit to be a standard foul if the refs wanted to call it that way. But they were allowing physical play all game - so it shouldn't surprise that it wasn't called.

I'm over 6 ft tall - which isn't huge - except when playing with a bunch of church ballers in the 5'5" to 5'10" range. I've been hit in the back unexpectedly before (and I don't think the Gonzaga player was expecting Haws); and I've ended up with a little tweak to my back and some back pain as a result - often depending on if/how I'm twisting when it happens, where my head is looking, etc. Due to my own experience with this - I don't think we can say 100% that it was a flop and the guy really didn't feel anything in his back.

So - maybe it was a flop and he was 100% acting. Maybe it wasn't, and it really hurt. Either way - it could've been called as a foul or not - but it wasn't anything flagrant. And whether or not the guy was flopping has NOTHING to do with the way he fell after the hit from TJ. It's very possible that's 100% real.
