And he came across as really loving the school, knowing how special a place it is, and being very appreciative of coaching at BYU. Now, some of that is likely his personality coming across as a positive, upbeat, and very likeable guy. At the same time, I did believe that he truly sees the worth of being the head coach here.
I don't know that he'll stay forever but, after listening to that interview, my feeling is that he isn't going to leave here for just "any job." My feeling, while listening to him today and his excitement to be a part of things at BYU, is that it would take a school like Kentucky, the school he played at and that has a rich basketball tradition, to pull him away from BYU.
