should get 2+ wins at a minimum, but probably 3+. If SMC wins a game as well, that's a bonus. It's the only time I'll ever cheer for them to win.

If all of that happens, respect for the WCC will improve. However, I doubt SMC gets an at-large. The lack of respect is too pervasive.
