State NCAA tournament game in SLC in 2013. I was sitting next to some old Gonzaga fans. In front of them and us were 4 or 5 12-14 year old boys. They were friends and not really cheering for either team, just enjoying the tournament games. These were quiet, respectful, non-rowdy kids.

At a timeout one of the boys stands up and announces to his friends he is getting some food and asked if anyone wanted him to get them something. His friends start giving him small orders. As he is taking orders the game is ready to resume and the old Gonzaga fan sitting behind the kid standing up starts huffing and grunting and bobbing back and forth craning his neck in extreme exaggerated fashion to show his displeasure that the kid is standing in front of him and partially blocking his view even though play hadn't started again yet.

The kid had his back to the old guy so I doubt he even noticed the old fool pitching a baby fit. Play starts again and maybe 5 seconds go by and the old guy springs up shoving the kid hard, yelling "sit down already!" The kid falls forward and barely catches himself from toppling over by leaning on the fans sitting in front of him. Everyone within 3 rows turns around staring at this old idiot fan. He sees all eyes on him and starts ranting that "the stupid punk kid was standing and blocking his view." The kid was pretty meek and stood up and apologized to the old guy and runs off as fast as he can to get his food.

The kid comes back with food and sits down as fast as he can and he and his friends quietly whispered to each other trying to keep a low profile to not set off the old idiot even though they had done nothing wrong. I was sitting with my BIL and we were both ticked at how this old fan had acted so we start saying things back and forth to each other about the guy, just loud enough for him to hear. stuff like "i guess I would be that big of a jerk too if my 1 seed team was losing to a crappy 9 seed team like Wichita State." My BIL and I had been cheering for Gonzaga up until the Zags fan shoved the kid but just to annoy him we started very vocally cheering for Wchita State. We were even high-fiving the boys in front of us on big Wichita State plays. They caught on to what we were doing and started cheering as well. You could tell it really bugged the old guy, he just scowled and shook his head muttering under his breath. He ended up leaving in a huff with about 3 minutes left in the game.
