If you wanted to be adventurous you could then take the metro from Santa Monica
to a number of different places like Exposition Park (California Science Center, Natural History Museum, the Coliseum) or downtown, or even Hollywood Blvd. Depends if you want to be going all day or not, but the metro was just recently extended all the way to the Santa Monica Pier.
