The biggest difference is the access to higher-rated players
Even LDS players. Being in a (more) power(ful) conference would help us get a few more elite recruits than we currently are getting.
At least in the immediate future. Now, GU gets great recruits...but after 20 years of building its program. Raising the prestige of the WCC would help the "program building" quicken its pace.
