Everybody gets to the lodge for lunch, hot and sweaty and clomping around in boots, peeling off their gloves and hats. Then they go back to the hotel and hang out in hotel hot tubs, drink at the bars, etc. It's absolutely a place to pass infections around.

And in fact the ski resorts in Northern Italy have been a primary source of infections throughout Europe.
