There's an easy way to prevent these types of "misspeaking" that seem to occur on a daily basis:

Have prepared remarks, fact check those remarks with the people or companies you're referencing, practice saying those remarks and finally read prepared remarks. At a certain point, constantly getting facts wrong isn't a just a "mistake", it's being lazy at best and nefarious at worst.
