IMO, you vastly underestimate the economic consequences of the shutdown,
and overestimate the economic costs of an overwhelmed hospital sector. Will it be 'business as usual?' Considering how most of our daily lives are comprised of business as usual, the answer is yes, we would plug on. Would we mourn our losses? Also yes. Would some industries suffer? Sure. But the main economy would march on and keep the lights on.

Our (over) reaction could do immeasurable damage to the livelihoods of countless people.
