This sure looks like "over-reaction" to me.  The numbers simply just don't justify the reaction.  You're not teaching 70 yr olds. 

(And if your child has a serious, existing health condition then by all means, "Yes!", keep them home even if they hadn't cancelled the rest of the school year.)
