I have created my first online assignments for the shutdown for my middle school
students. I teach social studies/history, and students have been using Canvas all year to turn in assignments. My first assignment is allowing students to find 4 news stories each day, and write 4 details about each news story. They can choose any credible news source they would like. For the older kids I was thinking about doing a compare and contrast on the same topics as covered by CNN and FOX. We have talked about differing media biases in the past.

As parents, what type of assignments do you want to see for your students during this time. What would the appropriate work load be for your kids?
