kimdaddy35 Intervention Needed
My thoughts for the evening.
As many of you know I have followed this virus very closely. I continue to do so as it is has been almost addicting to me (horrible in almost every sense of the word, but I think I keep pouring through the data as if I can find something or figure it out).

Our two best hopes:
The drug. If the treatments work they may save a ton of lives and our economy along with it. Early anecdotal evidence has been good, I would like to see more substantial numbers and death rates to slow down.

Summer. Flu season ends in ..... mid April. But it can be before or after that. We don't know exactly how this virus will respond, but I'm guessing things get much better in the summer. Hopefully things warm up sooner than later.

When it gets cold again we will have some herd immunity on top of much better numbers to fight the virus. It isn't out of the realm of thinking we will even have a vaccine (many testing already) by October.

In my opinion these first two to three weeks are about slowing the yield curve. It is needed. Hospitals are going to be overrun on capacity for a couple of months despite this.

Lockdowns are dumb for the most part. The non essential businesses you are shutting down aren't primary spreaders of it. A targeted approach of non essential to jobs that assemble together would have been better. Yes I understand a lot of people don't follow social distancing and this is a primary reason for the lockdown.

We can't stay locked down forever. April 15 at the latest in my opinion. The weather should be warming up and we should have hit our ceiling by then.

I would keep schools locked down even longer. The kids will be fine without it and schools are notorious virus spreaders.

This has been horrible and will be for at least another month. BUT, we will get through it and if we work together hopefully we can limit the negative effects on the economy as much as we can. People who can will need to spend. Banks will need to give business loans. Deferments and forebearances should be happening where possible.

I don't know when you bring back sports. Arenas full of people sitting 12 inches from each other sounds bad.

Again my 2 cents from my limited view.
