Does Spain have a mutated form of the virus?

My wife tells me she has seen articles of a mutation there. I haven’t seen it reported in places I normally see news, so I don’t know if that’s reputable. If it’s true, that could contribute to the difference.

That's one of the reasons the data is crap: there is no uniformity in reporting
