a Ford F-250 Lariat for a 3500 mile round trip from SF to Dallas, it had the turbo diesel and was an absolute pulling machine. I couldn't believe how responsive it was and the 10 speed was fabulous pulling under load in the wind. It never hunted for gearing and rarely even came out of 10th even on grades.
That being said, I'll be towing maybe 1% of the time and have no interest in messing with DEF and the increased cost of diesel maintenance, and the $10k increase in price, even if it'll last 20 million miles. I'll mostly use it as a daily driver and even then I don't drive much.
So, trying to find a 3/4 gasser is proving to be pretty difficult. I have a 2017 Sierra now (with 5500 miles on it), and I think I'll stay with GMC because besides this most recent experience, I don't like Fords.
