Define "dirt slow"
I've been WFH for 12 years now with Comcast/Xfinity and the fastest I've ever been is about 100mb/s down and about 15mb/s up. (I live in the country) Right now it's 25 down and 5 up and is more than adequate for WFH.
Unless you're working with huge video files I highly doubt you "need" anything faster.
