his car broke down... He was only a few hundred yards past his broken down car. It was along the university ave/canyon road, near the mouth of the canyon. He was nearing retirement age, and is Japanese (minority in Utah County - if you're trying to figure out the relevance). He said that Travis Hansen stopped his car, backed up and asked him if he needed a ride. This was during the time between his final game/graduation and trying to make an NBA team. Uncle hopped in the car and got a ride home into North Orem. He said that Travis was just a kind, smiling kid who was happy to help a total stranger who appeared to need help.
This uncle taught at BYU, but was a huge UofU BB fan. That one experience with Travis changed his entire outlook towards BYU sports.
