investing in the market over paying down debt?
Seems like the general consensus has been “why put $$$ toward a 3% return by paying down debt when you can earn a lot higher return by investing in the market.”
At least by paying down debt you’re locking in a guaranteed return.
I know I’ve had mixed feelings about it in the past. My priorities going forward will probably be:
(1) Invest up to employer 401k match
(2) Pay down debt
(3) Toss-up between real estate investment and other retirement accounts
