And now you know why those of us who have been through the big crises in early 70s, early 80s, 2001, 2007-8, etc
Generally advocate for staying out of as much debt as possible. That's why our home has been paid off for several years now instead of taking all those extra house payments and putting them into the stock market. It brings one comfort and peace of mind.
