We submitted our federal and California state returns about a week ago. I'm getting a substantial refund since I didn't do a good job of realigning claimed exemptions after the new tax code improved our situation pretty substantially. Yes, that's on me. But now hoping there's no significant delay in getting this money back. I don't need to have it (although since its my money I'd like it) — but given how everyone is freaking out about things I'd rather get it sooner than have the government hang onto it.
