It always sounds too cheesy/dated/old to me. And there are definitely old songs that don't feel that way to me. Some songs are just classic and can be used for everything. Like Dream on from Aerosmith...amazing for a sports montage. I think that Rock and Sports are meant to be together. I'd much prefer if the NCAA traditional song was a classic rock ballad of some kind that stands more of the test of time.
