My dad is a small business owner, with a two-decade old business, and he’s said that provisions within the bill are going to shoestring him and make it nearly impossible to benefit. For one, a provision which will require him to pay for his employees’ wages for 12 weeks out of his pocket if they need to stay home to care for kids out of school or whatnot. He’s said the bill is riddled with items that are just going to bring down his business and others, though many of those provisions are waived for companies with 500 or more employees.
Has anyone reviewed the bill? Is it going to prove helpful for small independent businesses, or was it gutted before it had a chance to actually give them hope? I’m very unsure about it now.
